New Hampshire offers plenty of terrific locations to hold weddings and other events. Megan and Dave chose Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown for their mid-October wedding. They held the ceremony on a lawn area with colorful leaves floating down around them. Afterwards, they gathered in a large, stone shelter for the reception. The meal was a spectacular collection of dishes friends and family brought (like the 0ver 200 delicious rolls one spent a day baking). Oh, and there was a slow-roasted pig and beef roast.
When I met with Megan and her mom, Amy, before the wedding to discuss the details, they mentioned that Dave didn’t really like having his picture taken. If they hadn’t said anything, I never would have noticed. He did a terrific job and I think we got some wonderful photos. I found everyone quite easy to work with.
Megan and Dave also got lucky with the weather. The day before, the forecast had called for a chance of rain. Not only did it stay dry, but later in the day the sun peeked out for a while. Following the meal and cake cutting, some guests danced while others played horseshoes. I’ve really enjoyed the more casual weddings like this one I’ve shot this season.
