Summer Portraits at the Lake

Anna is a natural.

Big, sunny smile; Mona Lisa smile; touch of seriousness, she wore them all well and switched easily between them. I often just made minor adjustments to poses she went into naturally. She’s the type of person photographers enjoy shooting. Of course, a glorious summer evening dockside on Lake Winnipesaukee, the jewel of New Hampshire, made her senior portrait session even better.

Anna loves boats and water, so we chose Church Landing in Meredith for its beautiful grounds and rustic dock. A gazebo at water’s edge made just the right setting to get shots with the lake and mountains in the background looking one direction and the sun reflecting off the water in the other – a wonderful high-key effect. The lush lawn and gardens and a white wooden fence offered a perfect compliment to the lake shots for getting a variety of looks and backgrounds. We ended up with so many fantastic images, it was hard to choose only a few to highlight in this post.

I wish Anna all the best in her senior year at Franklin High School, a winning season on the softball field, and a very bright future ahead.
