A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Concord

By August 4, 2014 March 25th, 2018 Event, Performance, Play

On a pleasant summer evening in July, people gathered to celebrate at Concord’s 3rd annual Midsummer Night Magic event. Local bands, a variety of performers, and a parade filled downtown with music, smiles, and laughter. A highlight of the evening was a performance of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” played out by The Community Players of Concord.

Taking photographs of plays can be fun as well as challenging. Being in the right spot to catch the good expressions and actions requires being ready and prepared, but also a bit of luck if you haven’t watched the particular production before. Also, since they held the show outside in Eagle Square, they didn’t have the whole stage setup like they would in a theater. This made the backgrounds for a few of the shots a bit messy.

The cast put on an excellent performance. Unfortunately, because of other things going on that evening I wasn’t able to stay for the entire show.
