While photographing a friend’s wedding (and also dancing and eating), I wanted to take a beautiful portrait of another friend. Sam looked gorgeous with the way she’d done her hair and the dress she chose to wear. I set up a couple of my lights in the yard behind the tent where everyone was enjoying the reception.
The sun had gone down, but it was still relatively light. I didn’t find exactly the background I wanted, so I kept the strobes at full power to make the background dark. One strobe lit her from behind for rim lighting and the other, with an umbrella added softer light from the front. I liked the effect for just a quick, simple setup.
