Let’s Dance Halloween Ball & Boolesque Performance

As usual, the Let’s Dance Studio Halloween Ball was a howling good time with good treats, spooktacular music, and eye-popping entertainment. Oh yes, and plenty of dancing. The trick with the Halloween Ball is coming up with a fun, creative costume that doesn’t get in the way of dancing – which is why I chose not to wear my Slice of Pizza costume.

This year’s Ball served up two terrific performances. First on the floor, two new instructors to Let’s Dance, Jennifer and Roman, mesmerized the crowd with an improvisational Tango. The drama and passion of their moves and styling made a good first impression of their dancing skills. Following them, The Sugarbabies wiggled, strutted, and shimmied through a boolesque routine to The Archies’ Sugar, Sugar. The choreography by Debby had a few people picking up their tongues and eyeballs off the floor.

The Halloween Ball gives me the chance to get some fun photos with all the costumes. I had some new lighting equipment and gels (that add different colors to the strobes) to play around with this year. The downside, though, is that I get so busy photographing the event, that I don’t have much time to dance. I did manage to squeeze in a few dances.
