Accompanied by drums, cymbals, and a large red and yellow flag, Chinese lions danced through the Memorial Arch and up the walk to the Capital to start the 9th Annual Multicultural Festival in Concord, NH. The Wah Lum Chinese Lion Dancers from the Wah Lum Kung Fu and Tai Chi Academy of Malden, MA spread smiles, cheers, and excitement through the crowd. The Lion Dance incorporates basic movements of Chinese martial arts and is said to bring happiness and good luck. The performers certainly brought happiness, but the luck only held for another couple of hours.
