The Bright Dawn after the Storm

I’ll admit it – I love snow. Enjoying four glorious seasons is a large part of what brought me to New Hampshire. I find it relaxing and peaceful to watch it snow. I find it exhilarating to snowshoe through the forests, across frozen lakes, and among the mountains(especially on clear, moonlit nights). I even like the bite of cold on my face.

But what I find most magnificent is when the day dawns bright after a storm.

The eight inches of snow that fell last week gave an appetizing taste of winter. Hopefully, this was nothing more than a first course with plenty more to come. I’m glad, though, that this first decent snow of the season happened during the Christmas break so I had the chance to spend time outside drinking in the beauty. And capturing some terrific photos.
