Book Club Ladies Play Dress Up

By December 29, 2014 Fashion, Fun, Portraits

Over the Holidays, I had a portrait session that was a little different than what I usually do. Several ladies from a book club just finished reading the book Overwhelmed: Work, Love, and Play. One of the chapters talked about doing things outside of ones’ comfort zone. With that in mind, Tina of Bravo Boutique on Main Street in Concord, New Hampshire, invited them to come to her store and try on various gowns.

The idea was that they were just going to have fun and I would grab shots as we went along. I did end up doing some posing and setting up shots, but overall they were more spontaneous than formal portraits. The ladies laughed regularly and had a blast picking out gowns for themselves and the others. At the end, there were plenty of dresses for Tina to put back on mannequins and hang back up, but the fun was worth it.

Trying on gowns they might not normally wear and posing for photos was certainly outside the comfort zone of some of the women. Despite that, though, they all seemed to enjoy themselves.
