On the final Saturday of Summer, I drove over to Vermont for a small wedding at the Hartness House Inn. A cute couple, both originally from Kenya, traveled up from where they live in Massachusetts with a small group of friends to get married. The weather was perfect and the short ceremony was beautiful.
After the ceremony, we enjoyed creating some wonderful portraits at different spots in the yard. John and Sylvia were wonderful to work with. I could have spent more time taking photos (well, I never really get tired of that), but they needed to get back to their friends for the rest of the celebration.
They had a nice addition to the cake cutting that I will suggest to other couples at their weddings. In addition to the bride and groom feeding each other cake, they also feed the mothers cake. They do this to celebrate the importance of the moms in their lives and to show they’re still included in the family.
I wish John and Sylvia the best of luck and much happiness in their new life together!
